Hmm.. let's call this an ode to Billy Joel and my hometown, Long Island.

Billy Joel was one of my first and biggest musical influences as a child. It was listening to his "biggest hits" album (memorizing all lyrics of course) and seeing him live at MSG at age 9, that got my creative juices flowing from pen to paper. It's true, he inspired my 5th grade hit, "Crazy Girl." It was pretty deep.

This is one of the saddest, most honest, songs I can think of. I was drawn to it from an early age and so was Sam, the amazing bassist on this recording. We thought our version would be a good way to introduce the set.
